In the last edition of Can Can we reported that we now have a defibrillator for our community, sited outside the farm shop, on the wall opposite the coffee shop. It is now registered with West Yorkshire Ambulance service. Continue reading

am incredibly excited to share with you all that I have been selected to volunteer in Kenya on a sustainable development project for three months with International Citizen Service (ICS) who send young people to several developing countries around the world to work on projects tackling extreme poverty. I am the manager and owner of Hoppers Out of School Club which is based within Wellhouse J and I School. I work closely with the three Heights Federation schools- Clough Head, Wellhouse and Wilberlee J and I Schools. Hoppers transports and collects children from all three schools in the federation. At a recent BMCA meeting the idea of a community defibrillator was discussed. A Traditional Old English Themed Night was already planned and then decided any money raised would start the defibrillator fund (the evening went really well and almost half the money was raised!)
